Obituary

JAKE FRIESEN
Peacefully, on April 13th, 2021 Jake passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at age 81.

Lover of cabbage soup, a good recliner, old westerns, and the Winnipeg Jets, in random order. His phone calls will be missed by family and friends, but whenever we hear “Whatcha doin”....we know it is him checking in.

The family would like to extend thanks to the folks at Columbus Villa, that made him feel welcome, Sholla at Access Transcona Homecare for the help and guidance. To our dad’s homecare workers, he looked forward to your visits, and we appreciated your loving kindness.
Also, thanks to Dr. R. Choptiany and Lisa for their help to Jake. And finally, the tremendous staff at the St. Boniface Hospital that did their very best to help dad in the best way they could and were wonderful support for him and us when it was his time to go.

Cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time.

Donations would be appreciated to Kismet Creek Farm. Cheques can be mailed to Box 95, Steinbach, MB, R5G 1M1. E-transfers can be sent to kismetcreekfarm@outlook.com . Donations may also go to Penny's all breed rescue for his favorite Chinook. Phone: 204-509-5432 or e-mail: pennysallbreedanimalrescue@gmail.com .

Mikky and Richard !! I am so very sorry for the loss of your dad. Jake was a very special person. He was a terrific friend of mine personally and we enjoyed many hours at the lake with him. He was our neighbour and friend and we spent many hours enjoying each others company. He was never still. Always working on something. It was either for him or more often someone else. One good guy!! All that have known him will undoubtedly miss Jake. He loved his kids more than he let on.. Please take care of yourselves and remember your dad with love, as do we.

We met Jake through Rob & Carly Newton and Rob’s Mom Marg, when we visited MB, from BC. Carly is our daughter. He was so nice and attentive to us. He was very kind and interesting. My husband really enjoyed hearing him talk about Switzerland.
He was so gentle with the grandkids. He will be missed! RIP Jake.
